Dear Friends of the Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild,

The past few years have marked an exciting chapter of renewal and forward momentum for our Preservation Guild. Every day, we’re inspired by the passion of our staff, volunteers, and supporters who share a deep love for our ships and the stories they carry. As stewards of some of the most iconic maritime vessels in Philadelphia, we are proud of our legacy, but even more energized by the vision we’re building for the future.

Our overarching vision is to bring the Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild into a new light through educational programs, workforce development, apprenticeships, community engagement, and partnerships with Blue Economy leaders and local businesses. It is important to strengthen our current offerings such as Tall Sips, Riverside Sessions, OpenDeck Tours, and our pre-apprenticeship program, while developing initiatives that will bring more people to the water.

Our immediate needs are as follows:

Dry docking and inspection of the Gazela.

Repair and replace the spar on the Gazela.

Expanding our education programs to local schools.

Enhancing visitor experiences through engaging events such as tours (OpenDeck), Riverside Concert Sessions, Tall Sips Lectures.

Training our crew and readying the ship for our sail through the Chesapeake in 2026 for America250/Gazela125.

Expanding our Marine Trades Pre-Apprentice Program.

By becoming a member, you support our organization’s programming and the continued preservation of our vessels--Gazela, Jupiter, and Poplar. Your membership also grants you access to discounts for PSPG events and merchandise, free admissions to classes and workshops, regular updates about the work we do, and the ability to join our training sails during the summer!
