Every dollar raised will be matched up to $7K - help us finish critical repairs and fuel future programs.
As the days get longer and the weather warms, we're finishing up the winter projects on board Gazela and getting her ready for another season. Jupiter has seen work on her systems and machinery, with warmer weather allowing the resumption of outside projects. The pilot season of our Maritime Trades Pre-Apprenticeship program is nearly over, and we're looking ahead to a full season of Training Sails and Events, including our new Summer Camp in partnership with Old Pine Community Center.
Maintenance this winter has seen the unanticipated demise of Gazela's main companionway coaming, which created a rather large hole in both our plans and the deck, thankfully the wood is on hand and a new one will be built in the coming weeks. We've unfortunately also discovered a terminal rot pocket in the mizzen boom, necessitating replacement. Meanwhile, the starboard topsides are being prepped for a fresh coat of paint, and repairs are coming along in the engine room with the replacement of the starboard generator exhaust flex and reassembling the main cooling system.
This is a difficult time for funding the Guild though, bridging over the last bit of time until summer event revenue starts coming in. After all the hard work taken to get here it's vitally important we keep the momentum generated by our volunteers and new staff going. Some individuals (including members of the Board) who believe strongly in our mission, have pledged to match up to $7000 of donations received by the first week of May.
So we are asking you, as a supporter of the Guild, our mission, our ships, our volunteers, and our programming, to make a donation today to help bridge the gap. You can make a one-time or recurring donation. For any new recurring donation set up, the full amount for the remainder of 2025 will be considered pledged and count towards the $7000 match, and it's a great way to support the Guild throughout the year. We truly appreciate anything you are able to give, and thank you in advance for your support.
